Robert Shafto

Robert came to America when he was 11 years old. Most of his children are buried at Hamilton cemetary. Robert and/or his eldest John built the larger farmhouse in what is now Tinton Falls, NJ. the area was at that time a part of Shrewsbury Township. This area was to be called Shafto Corners, and is just a few miles to the west of the original homestead near Hamilton.
Robert married Isabel Kerr, daughter of Robert Kerr and Unknown, on 14 Dec 1802. (Isabel Kerr was born on 27 Feb 1780 and died on 17 Feb 1846.)
